Wedding Stationery

Finally got round to taking some photos of the Wedding
stationary to share with you.
Numpty that I am I never thought to take any before I gave them to be sent out so had
to wait till after the wedding and pinch the the table menu and my place name lol.
And the invite is the one sent to me!!!!!!

Oh yeah forgot to say I am known as his other mum  (always knew when he was in trouble at his house because he would end up at mine like a bad penny),

I had major problems matching the colour scheme that the bride wanted and wasnt able to get any teal paper for backing paper anywhere so ended up using embossing powder.

Each segment of the invite and RSVP has backing paper so there was lots of embossing to do.

The rest of the stationery kept to the same theme
I used a sissix folder for the pattern and added pearl drops to each pattern centre. (And of course as soon as I finished doing the embossing through my cuttlebug (good arm excercise) I got an ebosser how much easier would that have been lol.)

Will have to wait for the thank you cards till the happy couple get back from honeymoon and send some out.

Looks like Summer - Fab n Funky challenge

Helloooo and Happy Wednesday

You may have noticed I have been very bad at blogging for the past few months, this was because I have been doing all the wedding stationary for my son's best friends wedding.

I made 170 wedding invites, 170 RSVPs, 90 place cards, 120 thank you cards, plus menus and table plans it was a real labour of love.

The wedding took place on Sunday and was really lovely.
Here's me with my son who was the best man.

and here's my gorgeous grandsons with Grandad looking totally cool in their matching outfits.

When I get a chance I will take some photos of the stationary and share.

Meanwhile its time for a new challenge at
 which is....

Anything that Looks Like Summer!

this week we have two amazing sponsors

Who is offering one winner their choice of 5 digital images!

Ants Life - Fab n Funky Challenge

Helllooooooooooo

Hope your all enjoying summer now that it's arrived. Am loving the fact that I can sit outside in the evening, have a meal and chill out after work.
Only trouble is the time just slips away from me and before I know it its way past my bedtime and I havent done any of things I should have done!
Oh well winter will be back soon :-(

In the meantime we have another great challenge for you at
and because of the summer holidays we will be running this challenge for two weeks instead of one.

The challenge set by Shirley is

Make it a set

We want to see you make a set it could be of cards, maybe a card and a matching tag or envelope. You could make a gift box with matching card and tag. The sky's the limit with this one.
This week you have three times the luck of winning a wonderful prize! That's right we have not just one but three wonderful sponsors.

Winner gets to choose 3 images from the Doodle Pantry shop.

Our first prize winner gets the choice of 5 digital images
and the chance of a GDT spot using one of the images they win

And

Digital Delights

Digital Delights by Louby Loo
Who are offering a prize of $5 to spend in their store

I was lucky enough to get to choose an image from
Doodle Pantry
to play with and
when I saw these cute ants I just couldnt resist
They are soo perfect for boys cards which I always find a bit of a struggle.
When I got them it was decided that I would have to make a set of cards as they came with four images and sentiments to match!
What a Bargain

I kept my cards real simple and bright.
I coloured all the pics to match the backing paper using my Derwent and prisma pencils.

I added some glossy accents to the front of the trucks and ants to make them pop a bit but I dont think you can really see that from the photos.

Oh did I mention what a bargain these were! You also get a matching backing paper in the set.

Cant wait to see what you all come up with

I coloured him with pencils as I wanted to make the most of the sunshine and I have found that the copics tend to get too juicy if there out in the sun!
Used fluffy stuff for his hat.
Background papers I made using distress inks and resist embossing

Icicle is a Tim Holtz die which I cut using my
e-Bosser.

Animals

We have a great new challenge for you today at

ANIMALS

We want to see big ones; little ones or even imaginary ones on your project.

For my project I have tried something a little bit different for me and way out of my comfort zone lol.

I used a Geli plate and acrylic paints to make a background and used a Barbara Grey tip of removing the centre of the pattern to leave a clear space to stamp into.

The elephant and text are Tim Holtz stamps the trees and cow parsley are Clarity.

Not too sure about the result I think I need a bit more practise.

Cant wait to see what you come up with this week and for the winners there are too fabulous sponsors this week.

Mason's Pot

The Challenge at Whiff of Joy this week is anything but a card. Having just finished making 170 wedding invitations I am a bit carded out so thought I would have a go.

I pinched this jar from a work colleague which was at one time full of old fashioned sweets like Rhubarb and Custard, Cola Cubes; Pear Drops and other such goodies, we were very good though, they lasted a good couple of months!

The jar is the perfect size for keeping my grandsons play dough pieces in.

To decorate I have used some of the real cute stamps from the Whiff of Joy Spring collection which I haven't had time to ink up before.
The background paper was made using distress stains on copier paper, scrunched and sprayed with water before drying with heat gun. I then added some Treasure Pewter Gilt Cream
All the images were coloured with copics.

Use Beads - Fab n Funky

For our challenge at Fab n Funky this week  Rachel has set the challenge of using BEADS on your project.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Digi Darla Designs who very kindly gave the DT some images to play with.

I decided to use the Dandelion and had the idea of using the dandelion image as a background, as it is a digi image it was real easy to resize the image; flip it and turn it. I printed the background on plain paper and then used distress inks, I used Salty Ocean and Evergreen Bough which I applied with a dusting brush to give a very pale background.

My idea for the card was to keep it simple and add a butterfly to the background using microbeads as the body, I so didnt like it when I had done it that I had to do a quick rethink and went with the tall bride and groom instead.

Indigoblu

Today I had chance to have a play with this gorgeous stamp set by Indigo Blu that I got at Ally Pally

I wanted to do something a bit different so my sadly neglected distress marker pens came out to play.

The flowers are so lovely they cried out to be layered, and raised. I did try to take some photos from the side so you could see the different layers but typically the wind decided to come up as soon as I went into the garden to take the photos in some daylight and I ended up chasing round the garden trying to catch my card!

I'm going to enter this into the following challenge
