Make It Crafty - Distressing Techniques

Hi Guys

I have some news to share with you all, the Uber talented Zoe of Make It Crafty has asked me to be a member of her Fun Challenge design team, of course I hummed and haad for ages, okay for the whole time that I  re-read the email to make sure I hadnt got it wrong  before accepting.

Zoe has started a challenge site with a bit of a difference, for those of you that is unsure what it is all about read on!

Every two weeks there will be a fun challenge for everyone to enter and to maybe use some of the techniques that you can pick up from the Technique challenges which are held on the alternate fortnight. The Technique Challenge is designed to assist and encourage you to step outside your comfort zone. The Full time DT will be sharing tutorials, tips and tricks, plus ideas and feedback to enable you to extend your crafting experiences, in addition to the LEARNING, there are also PRIZES! so here's the scoop...

Today there is a new TECHNIQUE challenge (second wednesday of every month), and Mag's has done a DISTRESSING TECHNIQUE tutorial which is a little bit different to usual for our October assignments! Why not try this out or use whatever distressing technique you like and join in with the fun.

I have made this really simple calender for the challenge. The bracket and sign are cut from Mountboard using a Tim Holtz Die in my Cuttlebug. I distressed them both with Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress inks with a sponge. I recycled a keyring for the chains holding the sign.
I also distressed the dp's with the same colours and used a Clarity flourish stamp for the background. I stamped the top and bottom fourish with Shabby shutters and then I stamped the bottom flourish again with Peeled Paints slightly offset to create a shadow.
