Chocolate an strawberries, buttons and Bows

The challenge this week for Stampin for the Weekend is strawberries and Chocolate - how can anyone resist. I used another of those cute little Bildmalarna stamps for this one that I got from Nikki's fab shop Bunny-Zoe's Crafts.
I have coloured her with Copic's the papers are from Basic Grey.
I have added some bows and a button so I am also going to enter this into this weeks Next Level Challenge.
Of now to get ready for work, have a day giving away Trading Standards Freebies at the local shopping centre so I think it is going to be a busy tiring day. And of course after some alright weather where I have been stuck in the office I'm going to be outside in the rain today.
Hope you all have a great day whatever your up to.

Challenge 3

This card I made for the The Next Level Challenge which this week was a sketch.

I put off doing this card as I was hoping that the WOJ stamps woud arrive today and thought this sketch would be perfect for the willow and baby stamp and the tag would make a lovely gift voucher holder for my niece who gave birth the day before yesterday to a gorgeous little girl, but sadly they did not come as the postmen were on strike, so inconvenient they could have waited till after the stamps arrived. lol.

Anyway I thought if I put it off any longer it would be too late.

The image is a Sarah Kay that was stamped for me by Donna, thanks hun I love these stamps but they may have to stay on the wish list for a bit longer. I coloured her in copics.
The papers are from Papermania. Ribbon is Anita's and charm and pretty little flower braid is from my little Indian shop. Hopefuly if you enlarge the photo you will be able to see how cute it really is. I have done some faux stitching using a sakura pen. Fowers are a mixture of Petaloo and from Nikki (have you checked out her shop she has MEMENTO INK PADS!).

Anyways hope you all have a great weekend, I'm working tomorrow boohoo but hopefully i will have an almost finished Robin Picci for you on Sunday.

Ribbon Border Challenge 2

I spent yesterday cutting out leaves and colouring the edges for my picci so thought I would have a break for a while before starting to wire them, which takes forever and is soo messy.

And what better way to take a break than enter a challenge. Another new technique for me from The Next Level, ribbon Borders. Have to say though although I like the finished effect I did kinda get a tad het up whilst trying to do it. On my first attempt I cut the slots for the ribbon too close to the edge and after struggling to get all the ends in I broke the last corner. duh! You know what they say about old dogs and new tricks! I didn't learn and did the same thing again.
But the good news was that I changed my mind at this time and changed my backing paper to thicker card which I sprayed with both Olive Vine Glimmer Mist and Aqua Lagoon Cosmic Shimmer Mist. The gorgeous image is one from Donna, which I coloued with Copics as is the yellow ribbon. Flowers and leaf are from stash. All in all I was quite pleased how this turned out.

Aperture Card

Haven't done a lot in the way of making cards this week as am in the process of making a new papertole picture. When I have completed a bit more of it I will post it so you can see the different stages my piccies go through.

But I couldn't resist this doing this one challenge.

The new challenge site The Next Level has posted its first challenge which is to make a card u sing an aperture or a cut out. the card also has to have handmade Faux Prima Lollipop flowers on it. The great thing is the site has a tutorial on how to make the flowers which is dead easy to follow without any jargon. Just as well for me lol.

Cos I needed cheering up after my car fiasco and the chocolate didnt work I adored a couple of new Sugar Nellie stamps and when this one arrived I thought it would be idea in an aperture card.

I chose papers that are a download from Fred She Said and coloured the image in Copic Colours to match. I attached the swing to the branch which is a sissix die cut and inside the aperture and attached the girl with silicone so that hopefully she gives the impression of swinging in and out of the aperture.

I made the first flower following instructions and sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer Mist Purple Violet - big mistake Too Dark lost the papers underneath. Had another go and used Cosmic shimmer powder and water instead - very subtle shimmer doesnt really show on photo. Decided though I liked them both in the end so used both. OTT or what. I used some of the backing paper for the blossoms on the tree. Leaves are made with a L'Em Punch.

Have continued the colours and Branches on the inside.
