CDM DT - Lavender and Lace

It's Wendy's turn to set the challenge for Cute Daisy May and she would like to see what you come up WITH for the theme of LAVENDER AND LACE
Linnie draws the cutest images that so go with this theme that it took me longer to choose my image than make the card. (Please don't say it shows though).

I finally settled on this little cutie which you can find on
Sheet 4 Here. Linnie has been incredibly busy and there is soo many new images to purchase and at £1.99 for 6 images you cant go wrong. Or if your not sure about digi images why not pop over and grab the freebie to give them a try out and of course join in with our challenge.

The papers are from Joanna Sheens lace papers and DCWV brights Stack. As the lace paper is so intricate I kept the rest of the card very simple. I used my nesties to cut the matting for the image and coloured her with Copics. I threaded lavender velvet ribbon through my lace and thats it.

The Secret Crafter challenge is monochrome tones of one colur and white.

Challenge 13

This little cuty is one of the new Lilybean faries from Pollycraft.
I think I must have been feeling a bit green when making this one and think it may be a bit too much green.
I have followed the sketch from the Basic Grey Challenge which is by Martine, I really liked this sketch and am sure I will be using it again.
Papers are Basic Grey Porcelain Paper.

Deviant Art

I was asked to do a card using this image that I got from Deviant Art and the colour yellow and this is what I came up with. I am really pleased with how this turned out.
She is coloured in copics, with liberal usage of distress inks, papers are My Minds Eye. The flowers are felt and I have added a button from the Blossom set.
I have even managed to find a challenge to enter her into Robyns Fetish wants to see cards with an Asian Influence.

challenge 89, Emboss It

I just had to use the last of the main images from the Popcorn Romance Set so made a wedding card following the sketch at A Spoonful of Sugar The hearts were cut with my cuttlebug and embossed in my swirl folder. I then coloured them with Cosmic Shimmers. Papers are from DCWV Elegant selection. Sentiment is also from the Popcorn selection and embossed with Silver embossing powder.
Fab n Funky Challenge this week is Emboss It.
Corrosive Challenge Love

Valentine, Challenge 2, Love actually

Another valentines this time I followed the recipe challenge from Totally Papercrafts

2 Papers
1 Image

Papertake Weekly's theme this week is Love Actually.

Valentines, Challenge 20, Spots and Dots

Another Valentine, this time I followed the sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp

It does look from this photo though that I need to go and glue the ribbon as my ribbon heart is pulling it down :-((Not sure what the correct name for these embellishments are)but they came from Wild Orchid Crafts along with the flower.

Cute Card Thursday wants Spots and Dots.

Challenge 3, Inspiration, Valentine, N for New

Some quickie posts whilst Hubby is cooking dinner

I was asked to make a valentine card by one of my son's friend, so thought it was a good time to use my Popcorn Bear Romance Stamps. I followed the sketch from Its A Crafters Companion Image coloured with Inkadinks and Distress Inks.
Papers are from the Romance disc that goes with the stamps. Border punched with a Martha Stewart Punch.
Red hearts are buttons that I have had for ages and have no idea where there from!
The challenge over at Simon Says this week is to take Inspiration from a photo of a rose and the Stampin for the Weekend Challenge is Valentine as is Creative Card Crew
ABC Challenge this week is N for New - these are new stamps.

Merry Go Round - Moving

My beautiful Carousel Horses arrived last weekend and I couldn't wait to colour them up.

Now my Darling Other Half has always liked a challenge and when he saw these beauties he reckoned they really should be on displayed on an old fashioned Merry Go Round (Just like in Mary Poppins)Well who was I to stop him from designing me one. (You just cant accuse me of spoiling all his fun)
After several hours of programming my Craftrobo and copious amounts of swearing (air blue springs to mind)such as oops I did that wrong never mind!!!!!!!! I'll start again. LOL This is the finished result.

Sorry these are not great photos as it is raining here so had to take them in doors.
For some reason these have ended up really dark. But you should get the idea.
All the horses I have coloured with Copics
Some I have added Sakura Glitter Pen

And these ones I used Fluffy Stuff and Ultra Fine Glitter.

The little mirrors were cut with my nestabilities

Lattice work is my fab Martha Stewart punch (I just so love these)

Definately think me and my OH make a good team, what do you think?
I am going to enter this into the Floral Fantasies Challenge Moving, which they say can be interpreted in any way well I reckon a Merry go Round has got to count as moving, who have a fab prize for there first challenge which is sponsored by Sir Stampalot.

And just because I love this and those beautiful horses I am also going to enter it into Bt the Cute and Girly
which is Love but can be interpreted in any way including stash that you love.

I kept the card quite plain really and coloured the image with Copics, used my Martha Stewart corner punch added a bit of ribbon and Swavorski gems and heart. The Sentiment is from Popcorn the Bear Romance Set.

Crafty Cat DT call - Challenge 8

Trak at Crafty Cat Designs is looking for a new design team. Trak specialises in Paper Piecing CD's which is just a little bit different so I thought I would give it a go - as they say you gotta be in it to win it lol.

I couldnt resist using both images on the card so decided to make it an easel card. When I was sorting out papers for backgrounds my first choice was sheets from my DCWV Black and White Stack, but then I though it needed a tinchy bit of colour and thought pink would be good - match his nose like - well being just a little bit naughty I broke my New Years resolution to not buy any more papers until I had used what i've got and I bought some Forever Friends Pink Parfait papers at the Range last week (with possibly another one or two pads which fell into my basket lol) anyhoo next thing I know Ive made a Pink card instead.

So now I'm going to enter it into the The Pixie Cottage Challenge which is Pink or Red.
Also Creatalicious Challenge No stamped Image

Hope you like it

Cute Daisy May DT card

Another Manic Monday is here and back to work for me, (although having had the grandson here this weekend I need the rest lol)I'm on a course today about the internet so I'm hoping that it's not too technical, cos I dont do technical :-(

The good thing about Monday though is that its time for a new challenge at Cute Daisy May.
This week I got to choose the theme so I really hope you like it (if you dont I deny all knowledge hehe) and the theme I chose is Vintage.

For my card I used this gorgeous bride from Sheet 4 which you can get your hands on Here.

I used Vintage Photo Distress Inks and a clear Sakura pen for the dress which I think gives a nice aged look but still plenty of sparkle.

The flowers are a mixture from Wild Orchid Crafts and Petaloo. The lovely gold spacer was from Donna at Bearly Mine.

The papers are from DCWV the Elegant stack. I was going to use some lace on the card but decided the border which I punched with an MS punch fitted better.

Mats were die cut with my nestabilities.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges

Crafty Creations Love
Creative Card Crew Punch It
One Stop Craft Challenge Love n Kisses
Simon Says Punch It
A spoonful of Sugar Lots of Layering
Totally Gorjuss Dimension

Thanks for looking.

Faux Grid

I thought today I would do a challenge that I haven't entered in a long time which this week is Faux Grids over at The House Mouse Challenge.

I used the Birthday Cupcake stamp, which I coloured with Distress Inks.
The DP's are from the Nostalgia Core'dinations. I achieved the grid effect by scoring and sand papering the papers.
Mats were cut with my nestibilities.

Thanks for looking.

Challenge 43 and 92

I started colouring this gorgeous fairy from Sugar Nellie a couple of days ago with the plan of entering it into the Simon Says Challenge of Chocolate and Pink but have been so tired by time ive got home for work that I didnt finish it until tonight which is of course too late for that challenge.

When I was putting the card together I pulled out 3 matching dp's from the DCWV Garden Party stack but no matter how I put them together they seemed to overshadow the image so I stuck with just the one in the end and am really quite pleased with the result.

The fairy I stuck onto plain white paper which I had coloured with distress inks and used my lovely new Martha Stewart Corner and Border Punch set on.

Im going to enter this card into the following challenges
Creative Inspirations New Year New Product
Charisma Cardz Anything New

Flutter by Wednesday Fairy, butterfly or angel

Cute Daisy May DT Card - Ribbon and Flowers

Wow it is time for the second challenge of the new year over at Cute Daisy May and this week the challenge has been set by the uber talented Katie who wants to see flowers and ribbons on your creations.

For this card I followed the sketch at Create 4 Fun but I didnt get any extra brain cells for christmas so didnt realise the sketch was for last week - although I dont think I was being entirely stoopid cause I checked the sketch out Sunday morning and the challenges are supposed to be posted on the Saturday urgh.

Never mind I still liked the sketch.

Papers are Kay & Co. The totally scrummy flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts as is the heart. Ribbon and lace from stash.

I am also going to enter this card into five other challenges the Cute card Thursday challenge which this week is Something New, which can be interpreted as something new in your stash or new as in baby etc. As this is an engagement card I hope it counts as starting out on a new path. If not the digi image is a new one from Linnie. The Cupcake Craft Challenge Girly.
By the Cute and Girly New and Corrosive Challenge Distressing.
And the Copic Colour Challenge which this week are G00 RV21 and B32.

Challenge 84 Claudia's Sketch

I made this card for the Friday Sketchers Challenge which was a great sketch by Claudia. I used a Cute Daisy May image of a bridesmaid for this card which I coloured with Copics.

The Papers are from Paper Pizzazz Wedding Stack.

Flowers are from Craft Creations - Ribbon from Stash.
This also fits this weeks Papertake Weeklky Challenge and Stampin for the Weekend of New Beginnings and Fab n Funky Challenges Anything goes and ABC Challoenge L for Layering.

Well the good news is it hasn't snowed here today - in fact we have had a bit of a thaw so getting to work tomorrow should be a bit easier.

As you probably all know by now I kinda like Digi images, my other big like is Sugar Nellie - so how excited was I when Funky Kits got Digi images I was like a kid in a sweet shop. No I wasnt I lie I was much worse I had to have them all I NEEDED them.

This is Fairy Number 1 which I coloured with Copics and added extra fine glitter to the wings. I followed the sketch over at The Sugar Bowl I dont know why but I found this sketch quite difficult and not too sure that Im happy with the results. The extra challenge this week is NEW well the digi image is new so are the Copic colours that I used on her dress.
