Father Christmas

A couple of real quick christmas cards - Isnt this Santa gorgeous, I think he is deffo the best one I have seen. Cant remember the stamps company name, but I got it from the Craft Bard.

The ribbon on the second card has been coloured with Fired Brick and Shabby Shutters Distress Stains. The background was done in the same colours distress Inks I embossed a few swirls and added a bit of gold inka.

The first one I added a Spellbinders Die Cut for the sentiment.

Wedding Belles

The fingers are starting to get better, but still a bit too sore to do any colouring so had a day playing without.
This is one of the wedding stamps from Crafts and Me. I stamped it with versamark and then used Old Paper and vintage Photo Distress Inks.

Amazingly this is quite a good photo and does show the true colours!!!!!!! For this card I followed the sketch at Cute Card Thursday.

The flowers are all Wild Orchid.

The flourishes were cut with my bug I think they are creatables dies.

A quick peek at the inside.

Sunset and Clouds MIC DT

Hey the weekend is here and its a bank holiday yippee (it is of course raining though) still plenty of time for crafting so hope to see loads of entries into the new challenge at Make It Colourful.
This week we want you to have a try at skies, but hey this is make it colourful so it cant be just any old sky lol
 we want to see a

SUNSET WITH CLOUDS.

This is my effort this week and for a change I decided to go for a bit of brayering (is that a word) well okay the truth is it wasnt completely by choice I was a bit Stooooooopid and heated up milk in a cup in the microwave and the handle got so hot I burnt my fingers pretty badily when I got it out - can you believe how much mess a cup of milk can make when it hits the floor! Anyways I have had a bit of a problem colouring this week as I have a couple of blisters now. So please dont look to carefully at the colouring of the balloons or the cutting out cause it really aint pretty lol.

Anyways I am really pleased with the effect I achieved

Heres a bit of a closer view.

The ballons are of course by Make it crafty which you can get Here there is a great scene which goes perfectly with the balloons too, which I was gonna do till blisters burst, but you can see that HERE

HOW TO DO THE SKY

Mountain Meadow Big and Juicy Pad.

I took most of the ink of on scrap paper then lightly brayered onto the glossy card. I then got a slighly wet paintbrush and removed the ink where I wanted my clouds and dried straight away with a piece of kitchen towel. I then brayered the same colours on again (still very lightly) which gave a lighter shade to the clouds. I then took some of the darker mauve ink from the pad on my paintbrush and highlighted the clouds ( I used quite a wet paintbrush) and the wiped majority of it off again with paper towel. When dry I gave it a bit of a polish with the towel. Hey presto done in under 5 mins and no sore fingers.

This week the challenge is sponsored by Tiddly Inks check out there cute images and papers.

MIC DT = Make something wet.

Followers of Make It Colourful may remember our fearless leader Zoe and uber talented Barbara had a little challenge just between themselves, which was to colour raindrops with just Copic Markers no white pens or gel allowed, And what an awesome job they acheived.

Being the truly amazing people they are they shared with us lesser mortals some tips on how to achive this. So when the challenge COLOUR SOMETHING TO LOOK WET arrived I decided it was time to stop procrastinating and have a go at the raindrops.

For my picture I combined MIC Whimsical Mushroom with

Whimsy's Lilly Filly by Chrissy Armstrong

Heres a closer view of the raindrops I am going to admit this was definetely not my first try more like my 10th I found getting the directions of the raindrops quite hard and I liked some drops and thought yep I've cracked it then others went wrong. lol so frustrating.

Course by the time I got to this one I was hooked and had to have a try with the Derwent and Prisma Pencils

I took the same principles for these raindrops which being in pencil are a lot more subtle and I am thinking are a bit more realistic. would be interested to know what you think.

Anyway I really hope you join us on this challenge, you dont have to do raindrops just make something look wet and yes you can use white pens if you want.

For this last card I also added some of the lovely MIC laser cut chipboard flourishes Flower Leaf Swirls

Ooops I forgot to say we are sponsored this week by the fab Mo Manning who has some gorgeous images at Mos digital Pencil

and she is gonna let the winner choose two.

Caterpillar Fun - Nana Vic DT

Had a bit more time to play today and coloured up this real cute little caterpillar by Nana Vic. He is soo much sweeter that the ones that have been chomping on my Hosta's lol.

He's been coloured with Copics. Papers are from Forever Friends The Good Life. Sissix Die to make the rosette. Sentiments from Lily of the Valley.

Oh by the way top piccie shows a little bit of the wooden drawers that I have altered for storing all my cuttlebug bits. I have been spending a lot of time trying to organise my craft area, working in the front room does mean that I need to kinda keep it neat, but I was soo running out of space.
So have organised all my stamps by stamping them on to A4 sheets and laminating them to stick the stamps on _ I numbered the sheets and then took photos of them and and made a catalogue in Excel to show the sheet and what drawer of the filing cabinet they are in. Wow what an achievement that was. The system even works lol.

Anyway back to my piccie here is a bit of clearer one. I dont think this one is available yet at Nana Vic's but should be soon, its well worth popping over though cause Vickie has got some great images that are worth checking out.

Just a quickie, wanted to share this great image 'Shopaholics' which is by the talented Vickie of Nana Vic's.

I just love these 'ladies'. The sentiment is very dear to my heart and yep I know all the very best craft shops lol. the sentiment is from the docrafts Born to Shop range as are the papers.

Real simple card to show off the image and also cos mojo has wandered off somewhere, gonna have to see if I can find him soon.

For all those out there in the inner cities in the UK that like me are suffering from the mindless looters please try and stay safe.
