Some for the Men

I needed to make some mens cards and think these downloads from Lily-Boos Boutique are just billiant. I have coloured them with copics and used papers from the Boys to Men stack by Hot off the Press

Challenge 42

Well its a bit late but The Challenge for Secret Crafter this week is a recipe. 3 buttons, 2 design papers and 1 ribbon. This is what I came up with - the image is a download from Charmed Cards and Crafts, which I think is real cute. I am trying to use up paper that I have acquired over the years rather than print out new ones - some of them are really bright colours which are way out of my comfort zone, but I kinda liked this once I put it together and think it works ok. The buttons I coloured with my copics to keep the colour scheme going.

Friday Sketchers 62, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

This is my entry for Friday's Sketchers http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/ who have a really great sketch this week.

I have used a Cute Daisy May digi image which I have coloured with copics. I added some ultra fine glitter to the skirt of the main image and Fairy dust to the smaller image inside, I must admit to prefering the ultra fine.

Ribbons are Anita's - papers I have had for ages not sure where from. Flower from The Range and the charm from my Indian shop.
I am also going to enter this in the Creative Card Crew Challenge http://creativecardcrew.blogspot.com/ which is girls just wanna have fun.

Friendship

The theme this week for the Cute Daisy May Challenge http://cutedaisymay.blogspot.com/ is Friendship.
I bought this adorable snowmen materail at Ally Pally and decided I just had to use them. I decided that I would make side step cards to really show them off, unfortunately the only tutorials I could find were for A5 card and these weren't big enough for the snowmen once I had cut them out. So Hubby to the rescue - he worked out the folds for A4 cards for me.
I used white pearlescent card in my swirly folder and added glitter to make snow mounds, the snowmen I glued onto card first then cut out.
The other images are downloads from CDM I played around with the lamp post and reversed the image and had to change the writing so that it read the right way. Unlike the carols singers - never thought about it till I stuck the image on - another reversed image except that carols written on the book is back to front. oops. I added lots of glitter to her outfits and to the lampost.
The sentiment stamp is from the Cute Companions collection.

La La Land

La La Land Crafts is opening in less than two weeks, you can read all about it here http://lalalandcrafts.blogspot.com/ and to celebrate Irina has another fab candy to give away

Bizzy Becs Challenge,

Bizzy Bec has a sketch to follow as part of her design team call - so I thought I would have a go.

I have used my new Bildmalarna Christmas stamp from Nikki, which I have coloured with copics. Papers are from Bearly Mine Designs Extreme Designer 2. Snowflake stamps are from the Cute Companions Let it Snow Set. I stamped them with Blue Denim Distress Inks and embossed them with Moon Glow Magic Moon Pearls embossing powders. I then added some liquid pearls.

I have kept the inside quite simple, and just added a few punched icicles whichI covered in glamour dust.

Pearls

http://stampwithfun.blogspot.com/
The callenge at Stamp With Fun this week is to use pearls.
I have used the Wiff of joy stamps again but this time painted in blue denim distress inks. I cut the shapes with nesties and distressed te edges to take away the starkness of the white.
Papers are from DCWV Luxury Stack.
Flowers are from The Range, sadly they havent got any more and I am beginning to run out now
:(

The pearls and ribbon are from my stash, it doesnt show up on the photo to well but the ribbon has roses on it and is soo pretty.

Donalda's Sketch

I made this card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge http://wojmondaychallenge.blogspot.com/ which is a sketch by Donalda.
I coloured the images with distress inks and added Sakura glitter pen to her veil.
Circle was from my Fiskars circle punch. Flowers were from the Range, Lace from the Indian shop.
Sorry about the dodgy photo I took more than one but this is the only one thats transferred over, I think I have a bit of a problem with computers at the moment, my lovely laptop wont connect to the internet, so have to use the main computer which for some reason my camera doesnt like to download to it, hopefully Hubby will fix my problem.

Masking and Challenge 23

The challenge at Stamping for the Weekend http://stampinfortheweekend.blogspot.com/ this week is masking with two or more stamps. I thought this would be a good opportunity to get out my adorable Lumas Thorn Elves and some of the background stamps I had got at Ali Pali and not used.
Only problem was I couldn't make up my mind which elf to use so I had to use all of them.
I started off with Egbert and put him with these toadstool houses I also include some toadstools and tall flowery things.
For Elvin I masked him with a frame woodland stamp and for Trump who is my favourite I used a mystical tree which I added leaves to and toadstools.
I have coloured all the images in copics, the challenge at Copic Colour http://copicscolourchallenge.blogspot.com/ this week is to use R35 Coral, YG63 Pea Green and YR04 Chrome Orange which I have used in all of the scenes. I haved stickles and Sakura glitter pen to the piccies.
The patterned papers are all from Bearly Mine Designer Extreme Vol 1 or 2. Leaves are punched using L-Em punches and flowers are from Petaloo. Mesh is from Nikki and ribbon was from Donna.

Dragonfly

just had to share with you all this beautiful dragonfly who has come to visit my garden - I was just filling the kettle up when I saw him fly in and luckily he decided to hang around long enough for me to take some photos. Must admit havent ever managed to get quite so close to one before and i think this will definetly change how I colour my stamped ones in future ( no prizes for guessing whats gonna go on my next card). dont think it shows up too well in this photo but his head is a really gorgeous shade of green and his body is a fabulous shade of blue.

bit of a swine

Was due to go back to work today, annual leave over boo hoo, but I cant go, yippee, I have been diagnosed as having the dreaded Swine Flu, Uh OH. So as I'm going to be stuck in doors for a while, I can carrying on crafting, Im taking these days as being bonus days to do something I wouldnt normally tackle when I get home in the evenings due to the EXTREME mess I make and I have decided to make another cottage scene, and have a matching set,not sure how far I will get, but hopefully it will stop me thinking about my aching head. Have taken a pic of the original picture and the bits I have started on.

Take your pick colour combo

Over at Papertake Weekly http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/the challenge is to use set colours I have used lilac pink grey and yellow from the list to make this card.
The card is actually for my bosses daughter who has been in our office doing her work experience for the past couple of weeks, and bless her she has tried her hand at everything and been a real pleasure to have around. I couldnt do to much on the inside as had to put in an insert for everyone to be able to sign it.

The image is a Cute Daisy May which I won on the CDM challenge and just knew I had to have her, I think she is adorable. Paper are more of the Kanban papers I found these in the attic yesterday with my xmas bits, cant think why I have any left cause there yummy, or perhaps thats why there is only one sheet of each!!!!!!!!!!

The ribbon is Anita's and flowers are petaloo and prima charm is one I cut from braid I got at the Indian shop.
Image is of course coloured in copics and I used distress inks around the edges and used my nesties to put the image on.

By the way peeps lots of people have comented on the ribbons etc that I have been getting from my little shop - none of it is expensive most is around the £1.50 a metre - if anyone wants some I will be happy to purchase for you.

Hugs Beccy x

Challenge 2, and Tangled up in Blue

I wasn't to happy with this card when I started, but I thnk it has turned out better than I thought it would.
I've managed to fit this card into two challenges, The challenge for Stampin for the Weekend http://stampinfortheweekend.blogspot.com/ is song titles, I have chosen Tangled Up In Blue and I have followed the sketch at Crafters Companion. http://itsacrafterscompanion.blogspot.com/
The stamps are all from the Cute Companions set Let it Snow. Which I have coloured in Copic's. I have added Sakura glitter pens to the clothes and the snowman. All the papers are from stash I have used some of the icicle stamps and embossed them with flourescent embossing powder, which IRL looks quite good. I used a punch for the other icicles and embossed some of them as well and added some gems to the ones on the front.
Shapes are from nesties and punches.
Thanks for looking.
Beccy.

xmas

I couldnt resist these Cute Daisy May xmas images. They have both been coloured with copics, and for their fur and the muff I used fluffy stuff and sprinkled extra fine glitter on whilst it was wet. I also highlighted the lampost with fluffy stuff and glitter.
The papers are from last year and are by Kanban. The charms are from Bunny-Zoes shop. Flowers are from Petaloo and I have addes stickles to them and coloured the brads with copics. The Icicles are punches which I punched, coloured with very pale copics and then glittered.
I am going to enter the red card into the Cute Daisy May Challenge which is a sketch this week, which I have turned a little. http://cutedaisymay.blogspot.com/
Ihave just realised the green card as it has swirls on the paper also fits into a challenge - over on A Spoonful of Sugar http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/ the challenge is to use swirls in any form.

Cottage Scene complete

Apart from putting into the frame which is Phil's job, this is my completed cottage. This was quite a fun picture to make so much easier than real gardening no digging or weeds.

Cottage Scene

Good Morning everyone - I have got a couple of days ofwork this week, yippee, and I thought I would show you what I have been up to this weekend.
My gorgeous hubby decided that he would frame the pictures that I had made on Saturday - I had enough frame for a picture of a barn owl I had made, but didnt have enough for my Robin picci. I still had though one of the first bird piccis I had ever made, whcih to be totally honest just wasnt very good. So said to hubby take that picci out of the frame and I will redo it and use the frame for the Robin picture. Only problem was once he had taken original picture out the robins looked too small in the frame.
So poor old robins are going to have to wait till next week. I then decided that I would make a quick picture to fit in the now empty frame. I only had one picture that fitted, but as it was an Anton Pec, that was not going to be quick. So found a cottage scene and decided to enlarge it.
How simple is that scan - edit and reprint - no problem!!!!!!!!!!!
The pic was A3 to start with so I had to scan in three parts and join together - cept scanner kept playing up it would scan two parts lovely and then scan 3rd part skewiff. After at least an hour of some midly offensive swearing finally got all three bits to match just pressed save and the b****y computer cut out. there was me sat open mouthed in front of a black screen, of course I said oh dear me never mind and rebooted it.
Rescanned picci another what felt like a 100 times - managed to save it and then tried to print out - nope puter decided it really didnt want to play and cut out again. Hubby then came up with the theory that there was something wrong with the mouse and puter was cutting out when you scrolled with it.
So off we went to PC drive you mad World, got a new mouse and keyboard (as ours were linked) went to check out and as per usual only one till open - kindly little soul on the checkout said go to the next till to be served - now I know I didnt have me glasses on but even I can see that there was no one there, when I pointed this out I was very politely told that someone would be back on the till after they had finished their break, cos he was going on his!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK I am now not a happy bunny, but eventually paid for mouse and arrived home - hubby loaded new keyboard and I started to print got a couple of piccis when yep you guessed it puter cut out again - my quick picci has now taken almost five hours and I am still no closer to starting. It was now a matter of I will not let a poxy computer get the better of me.
Hubby then plays around with puter and thinks that after I had paid £60 for new mouse and keyboard that it is the program for my robo craft that is causing puter to play up cause it is permantly running in the background.
He managed to switch it off and puter started to behave, so finally got to sart picci yesterday and this is how it is progressing.
This is papetole with a fair bit of cheating as rather than doing the trees and flowers out of paper I am using a variety of things such as moss and dried flowers.
This is such a fun way of making piccis but OMG do I make a mess or what.
Wow I cant believe I wrote so much - congrats if you got to the end of my ranting, have a great day whatever you are up to.

Anything but a card

Over at DU2DS this week the challenge is to make anything but a card. I made a card a few weeks back using UTEE to make the wings which makes them a bit delicate so it needed something a bit more than a normal envelope to go in and had not got around to making anything for it yet. So I took this challenge as being the perfect opportunity qnd have made an envelobox for it. I used the original design for the card.

The fairy is a Cute Daisy May download, coloured with copics. I did use the same colours as on the original card but they look so much brighter because I used proper copic paper for the envelope. Dont know if anyone else has tried it but it is gorgeous to colour on but it is oh so thin. Have found though that you can use photoglue to stick the copic paper onto thicker paper once you have coloured your image (and if you have more sense than me (okay I know that its not hard to have more sense than me - I admit to being sadly lacking in that department) before you cut it) and it doesnt show at all.
This time I used fairy dust on the wings - and this shows I'm not always totally stupid - so that it wasnt so delicate - or I would be making boxes for ever!!!!!!!!

Challenge 15 Gayle's Sketch

OMG are we having a thunderstorm or what in the East End of London - Lightening is flashing everywhere and the thunder is making the house shake.

I have made this card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge http://sugarbowlblog.blogspot.com/ which is a sketch with the added option to use ribbons/bows.

As I had bought this gorgeous lacey ribbon today at my little Indian shop I just had to use it, so I turned the sketch around a little bit.

I found these Papermania papers from the Exquisite Paper Collection that matched the ribbon perfectly, lurking in the back of my cupboard.

I love this little image from Sugar Nellie which I coloured with Copics. The flowers and gems are also from the Indian shop.

La La Land

Irina is setting up a new stamp company and this is a sneak peak of one of her new range.

To celebrate her new stamps she also has some fab blog candy up for grabs, which includes the new stamp. Pop over to her blog and check it out http://everythingpapercrafts.blogspot.com/

The Inside Counts, Debbie's Sketch

Haven't made much this week as havent been feeling to great - this offering has taken me two nights to make. Still hubby bought me some more copic pens to add to my collection yesterday so that cheered me up loads. (Only another 80 to go!).

The challenge on the Cuttlebug spot http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/this week is The Inside Counts, and over at A Spoonful of Sugar http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/there is a lovely sketch by Debbie.
I have used a Sarah Kay image, which I coloured with copics. Papers are from Hot Off The Press. Swirls were cut with my Cuttlebug and I used Labels 1 Nesties. Flowers are from the Range which are held together with brads which I coloured with copic pen. The little gems on the front are from my little Indian shop and are really unusual as they change colour in the light.
I carried on the theme on the inside.

The first challenge is a really nice sketch which I can see me using again.
