This was not what I was working on for my debut at all, in fact its nothing like it and I kinda had to throw this together last minute (Sorry Zoe).
The theme for this week is a fabulous sketch with a Vintage feel. Now I do love vintage cards and have some gorgeous vintage images, which I rarely get chance to use so thought this an ideal opportunity, I chose a cameo type image which I decided to use crackle glaze on for a real vintage feel only thing is I made it to thick and it crackled soo much you couldnt see the image. 2nd attempt I put crackle glaze round edge and glaze over image - just a word to the wise it really doesnt work lol. still 3rd time lucky went with the plain glaze looked a treat just needed to finish drying to put together, but alas it wasnt meant to be, one of my darling (that was through very gritted teeth) cats had walked on it and left a paw print in the glaze. I will be doing my CSI bit and finding the culprit!
So anyways decided no time to glaze another image, so chose to use one of Zoe's great house images instead, this is actually the slime house but I thought it could just as easily be a snow house, you can get this one and other great digis from Here, but even that didnt go well and this was the second attempt.
Here is my first attempt and all I can say is I just didnt like it.
Still I quite like the 2nd attempt which I coloured with Copics and used loads of Twinkletts Diamond Dust for the snow, I love the way this catches the light. The papers are from the Kids Collection by Hot Off The Press. The lettering is using the Tim Holtz Vintage Market die cut. Edging is a Martha Stewart Punch. The snowflakes are from a Christmas decoration from The Range.
Anyways enough waffle from me and I hope to see you at the challenge.
oh beccy - boy I had no idea you went through all that heartache. Well I thought your 'fifth' attempt was stunning. I quite like your fourth too by the way and I am quite intrigued by what you did have planned. hugs xxoo
