Mason's Pot

The Challenge at Whiff of Joy this week is anything but a card. Having just finished making 170 wedding invitations I am a bit carded out so thought I would have a go.

I pinched this jar from a work colleague which was at one time full of old fashioned sweets like Rhubarb and Custard, Cola Cubes; Pear Drops and other such goodies, we were very good though, they lasted a good couple of months!

The jar is the perfect size for keeping my grandsons play dough pieces in.

To decorate I have used some of the real cute stamps from the Whiff of Joy Spring collection which I haven't had time to ink up before.
The background paper was made using distress stains on copier paper, scrunched and sprayed with water before drying with heat gun. I then added some Treasure Pewter Gilt Cream
All the images were coloured with copics.

Use Beads - Fab n Funky

For our challenge at Fab n Funky this week  Rachel has set the challenge of using BEADS on your project.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Digi Darla Designs who very kindly gave the DT some images to play with.

I decided to use the Dandelion and had the idea of using the dandelion image as a background, as it is a digi image it was real easy to resize the image; flip it and turn it. I printed the background on plain paper and then used distress inks, I used Salty Ocean and Evergreen Bough which I applied with a dusting brush to give a very pale background.

My idea for the card was to keep it simple and add a butterfly to the background using microbeads as the body, I so didnt like it when I had done it that I had to do a quick rethink and went with the tall bride and groom instead.
