MIC DT = Make something wet.

Followers of Make It Colourful may remember our fearless leader Zoe and uber talented Barbara had a little challenge just between themselves, which was to colour raindrops with just Copic Markers no white pens or gel allowed, And what an awesome job they acheived.

Being the truly amazing people they are they shared with us lesser mortals some tips on how to achive this. So when the challenge COLOUR SOMETHING TO LOOK WET arrived I decided it was time to stop procrastinating and have a go at the raindrops.

For my picture I combined MIC Whimsical Mushroom with

Whimsy's Lilly Filly by Chrissy Armstrong

Heres a closer view of the raindrops I am going to admit this was definetely not my first try more like my 10th I found getting the directions of the raindrops quite hard and I liked some drops and thought yep I've cracked it then others went wrong. lol so frustrating.

Course by the time I got to this one I was hooked and had to have a try with the Derwent and Prisma Pencils

I took the same principles for these raindrops which being in pencil are a lot more subtle and I am thinking are a bit more realistic. would be interested to know what you think.

Anyway I really hope you join us on this challenge, you dont have to do raindrops just make something look wet and yes you can use white pens if you want.

For this last card I also added some of the lovely MIC laser cut chipboard flourishes Flower Leaf Swirls

Ooops I forgot to say we are sponsored this week by the fab Mo Manning who has some gorgeous images at Mos digital Pencil

and she is gonna let the winner choose two.

  1. Beccy your drops look amazing, very convincing and I love them on this image. I like the copic ones best, for me they seem 'wetter' lol. Placing Lilly next to the mushrooms is a gorgeous little scene too. CoB

  3. Beccy - these are amazing. I love how the drops follow the contour of the mushroom. The ones in pencil look like a photograph. You can just tell that they're there. Fabulous!

thanks for really nice comments in my blog:) You made my day!! I was so happy when I read them:)
The card is folded so that it becomes a kind of double easelkort, and I fixed the fences with a small 3d pillows behind:).
It is the first time I made this card, and colouring with Copic's, I have only done about a month, but I got so much much inspiration and great tips from you and the other talented girls in MIC, so again .. thank you so much ♥.
Over to your card..I have to say your water drops are just beautiful, and they looks soo real and natural!! Absolutely Gorgeous, and the image is so sweet!:)
wish you a perfect day, Beccy!:)
