Whoopsi Daisy are having their First ever Hop

Just wanted to let you all know Whoopsi Daisy are  going to be having their first Blog Hop to celebrate the challenge going weekly on November 1st. You can start hopping from midnight just after the haunting hour if you need a bit of calming down lol.
I made this calender using the resist technique and Demin Jeans Distress Inks - the mat is my new die by Marianne Designs Creatables and I love it - it is a bit bigger than most of the die cuts so I will be using it loads.
The cute little deer are of course from Whoopsi Daisy online shop and can be found on sheet 122

Cowgirl Challenge DT - Autumn Release

Its another wet and miserable sunday in London, but this cute fall scarecrow is one of the new releases from CJ and is sure to brighten any day up.

Our challenge for you this week at TheCowgirl Sunday Stampen Challenge is to show us some bling.

Now on first glance my card may not look to clingy, but I made the backing papers myself, the leaf background was made using the resist technique, after a reminder from Glenda Waterworth in her Creative Classroom lesson (this is online and great value for money)about different resist methods. I used Luna Lights paints as the resist and they are giving off a fabulous sparkly effect to the background for my bling.

The image I printed out four times and decoupaged him so he really pops off the page.

Fun Challenge - Vintage with a Sketch

Well this is my first official DT card for the Make it Crafty fun challenge and oh my what a struggle I have had to get this one made.

This was not what I was working on for my debut at all, in fact its nothing like it and I kinda had to throw this together last minute (Sorry Zoe).

The theme for this week is a fabulous sketch with a Vintage feel. Now I do love vintage cards and have some gorgeous vintage images, which I rarely get chance to use so thought this an ideal opportunity, I chose a cameo type image which I decided to use crackle glaze on for a real vintage feel only thing is I made it to thick and it crackled soo much you couldnt see the image. 2nd attempt I put crackle glaze round edge and glaze over image - just a word to the wise it really doesnt work lol. still 3rd time lucky went with the plain glaze looked a treat just needed to finish drying to put together, but alas it wasnt meant to be, one of my darling (that was through very gritted teeth) cats had walked on it and left a paw print in the glaze. I will be doing my CSI bit and finding the culprit!

So anyways decided no time to glaze another image, so chose to use one of Zoe's great house images instead, this is actually the slime house but I thought it could just as easily be a snow house,  you can get this one and other great digis from Here, but even that didnt go well and this was the second attempt.

Here is my first attempt and all I can say is I just didnt like it.

Still I quite like the 2nd attempt which I coloured with Copics and used loads of  Twinkletts Diamond Dust for the snow, I love the way this catches the light. The papers are from the Kids Collection by Hot Off The Press. The lettering is using the Tim Holtz Vintage Market die cut. Edging is a Martha Stewart Punch. The snowflakes are from a Christmas decoration from The Range.

Anyways enough waffle from me and I hope to see you at the challenge.

Halloween Blog Hop - Cowgirls DT

These Spooktacular Ribbons from our regular sponsor Crafty Ribbons are one of the prizes up for grabs at for this weeks challenge at Cowgirls Sunday Challenge

This week we are having a bit of Halloween Fun and want you to dust of your broomsticks and fly around the DT Blogs.
The Top 3 entries will each receive one image form CJ and a winners badge.

BUT to Win you must hop along the Posse Name list and comment. We will be checking. Once you have checked out all the blogs pop back to the challenge blog and state which Posse project you liked the best and why.

Any Challengers that use any one of CJs images will be entered in a special drawing for a grab bag of goodies and images.

We would like challengers to use Halloween Images for the hop, however not everyone has Halloween where they live or celebrates it for whatever reason so as long as they enter with one of CJs images they will be put in the special drawing.

This is my Halloween Project a Trick or Treat Train. I enlarged the image to fit A4 Landscape and then flipped copied the image so each side was exactly the same and then coloured with copics. Cut out both sides and made a box for the treats to stick them on. Easy Peasy. You can get this Image from CJ's Store Here

Make It Crafty - Distressing Techniques

Hi Guys

I have some news to share with you all, the Uber talented Zoe of Make It Crafty has asked me to be a member of her Fun Challenge design team, of course I hummed and haad for ages, okay for the whole time that I  re-read the email to make sure I hadnt got it wrong  before accepting.

Zoe has started a challenge site with a bit of a difference, for those of you that is unsure what it is all about read on!

Every two weeks there will be a fun challenge for everyone to enter and to maybe use some of the techniques that you can pick up from the Technique challenges which are held on the alternate fortnight. The Technique Challenge is designed to assist and encourage you to step outside your comfort zone. The Full time DT will be sharing tutorials, tips and tricks, plus ideas and feedback to enable you to extend your crafting experiences, in addition to the LEARNING, there are also PRIZES! so here's the scoop...

Today there is a new TECHNIQUE challenge (second wednesday of every month), and Mag's has done a DISTRESSING TECHNIQUE tutorial which is a little bit different to usual for our October assignments! Why not try this out or use whatever distressing technique you like and join in with the fun.

I have made this really simple calender for the challenge. The bracket and sign are cut from Mountboard using a Tim Holtz Die in my Cuttlebug. I distressed them both with Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress inks with a sponge. I recycled a keyring for the chains holding the sign.
I also distressed the dp's with the same colours and used a Clarity flourish stamp for the background. I stamped the top and bottom fourish with Shabby shutters and then I stamped the bottom flourish again with Peeled Paints slightly offset to create a shadow.

You can check out what the rest of the team has done Here
